The office soon welcomed a new visitor. A red figure appeared amid golden light.

"I can help you," he said. "But you have to let me take that person away. I need to know time's secrets."

Sohip sighed softly. "You cling to an answer in your heart and believe that it is your judgment. But answers are always limited by what you know. Now that you have gained new knowledge, do you not intend to verify your judgment?"

Flash Batman, clad in a red uniform, frowned. Yet he still fixed Sohip with an icy stare. "Are you planning to go back on your word?"

"I hope you understand that I am not the one making this deal with you." Sohip pulled open a drawer and placed a Tarot card on the desk.

Flash Batman frowned at the thicker mist on the card. A few hours earlier, after seeing someone capable of controlling time through an illusion, he had wanted to know where that person was. The other party had handed him this card, but it had been completely blank then.

Flash Batman had never believed in vague, intangible gods. He believed that with infinite speed and infinite time, he would eventually find the person from the illusion.

Yet he had come back, because no matter where he looked, he could not find even the slightest trace of this master of time.

Perhaps a year had passed, perhaps ten. Using the infinite time within the Speed Force, he had searched nearly the entire universe. Not here, not there. In a sense, he had come to know this world anew, and that had made him believe there were gods in it.
