After Green Lantern Batman went through a series of moves infinitely close to staged accidents, he finally stopped. By then, Joker's living room had been turned into a complete mess.

Just as Joker was about to grab the chair Green Lantern Batman was sitting in and straighten him up, he heard loud banging on the door. Clearly, the downstairs neighbors had come knocking because of the earlier commotion.

Joker took a gun from the cabinet beside him and went outside to have a friendly, cordial exchange with the neighbors. In the end, after his own door took a shotgun blast and quite a few bullet marks were left on the ground at the other party's feet, the problem was smoothly resolved.

But the moment he returned to the living room, the now-conscious Green Lantern Batman started wriggling wildly in place again, and the chair's armrests scratched up a large stretch of floor.

If the one before him had been a real Batman, or one of Batman's Robins, Joker would definitely have chuckled and said, "Whose name should I put on this bill? Don't tell me you just happen to know some filthy rich guy?"

But Joker had barely taken one step toward Green Lantern Batman when the other man let out a piercing, ghostly wail. It did not stop until Joker heard the downstairs neighbors start banging on their ceiling again.

After several previous disasters, Joker's standard of living had plummeted. He had moved out of the Gotham Slums to the suburbs, specifically one of those neighborhoods that had long since lost both property management and water and power service. Everyone had to fend for themselves.
