"Who are you? Why are you here?" Officer Ge Yin was clearly wary and confused, because the outfits of the two people before her were simply too strange.
Batman and Batwoman exchanged another look. Batwoman released her grip, but the policewoman did not try to attack them again either. She had already realized that they were extraordinarily strong, not ordinary intruders. Without a gun, she could not act rashly.
"We're here to investigate Batman."
"Batman? Who's that? Do you mean that Spider-Boy who's been swinging around the streets lately?"
Without a doubt, the policewoman was acting as though Batman simply did not exist in this world. Had they gotten the wrong world? Had she just mentioned Spider-Man?
Batwoman did not know much about the other universe, but Main Universe Batman did. Could this be that world on the other side?
But that did not make sense either, because the news had clearly stated that Wayne Enterprises had once existed.
"Looks like this is a merged dream world," Main Universe Batman said. "The creator of the dream must have combined several different people's memories to create this place."
"What exactly are you here for?" the policewoman asked.
"What are you here for?" Batwoman shot back. She folded her arms and looked at the policewoman. "I don't think a public servant needs to be in the archives at this hour."
The policewoman had clearly been struck where it hurt and looked somewhat embarrassed. It was obvious—if she was a police officer, she could have come to the archives during working hours in the daytime. Why sneak around after work at night?
That meant she was definitely doing something she did not want anyone to see, but that did not change the fact that they were intruders.
"Listen, ma'am," Batman said, stepping in
