Early the next morning, just as the light spilled through the hotel's floor-to-ceiling windows, Schiller was brushing his teeth with a cup in hand when his phone suddenly rang. He picked it up and mumbled into it, "Hello?"
"Open the door, Schiller. We've got an early-morning interview. We want to film a bit of your daily life."
"But I'm brushing my teeth..."
"That's the best kind of daily life!"
Schiller shook his head helplessly. Still, he finished brushing and rinsing, set his toothbrush back on the counter, wiped his hands with a towel, and opened the door.
Outside stood Eddie carrying a camera, with an assistant in a baseball cap behind him. The camera lens was initially pointed at the floor. Eddie stepped back out first, then said, "Ready? If you are, I'll knock again."
Schiller had no choice but to close the door. When it was knocked on again, he opened it and put on an astonished expression. "What are you doing here? Why are you here so early?"
"Good morning, Doctor. How are you?" The assistant was carrying the camera now while Eddie stepped forward to shake Schiller's hand.
"Yes, I'm doing quite well." Schiller stepped aside to let them in. The assistant filmed the hotel furnishings while Eddie pointed at a canvas tote bag hanging nearby. "You're a Yankees fan too?"
"Of course. I'm from New York, after all. Though that bag was a gift from a friend."
"You don't exactly look like the sort of person who would choose a canvas tote."
"Can you believe it? I even own canvas sneakers."
"Oh, God."
