Nick was chatting with Natasha about the past when Coulson walked in carrying a phone and set it in front of Nick. Nick glanced up at him, wondering what was so important that it could not be reported directly.
Natasha gave him a look, but Nick signaled that she did not need to avoid the matter. At a time like this, nothing major was likely to happen anyway. He picked up the phone, but his expression quickly turned grave.
Nick listened on the phone for quite a while. After hanging up, Natasha and Coulson both looked at him curiously. Nick said, "Something happened at the Star Core Space Station."
"What happened?"
"It's complicated," Nick said. "But there's no rush to deal with it. I think this is a good opportunity."
About two days earlier, Schiller had been reading emails in his office at Arkham Asylum. The interns he had supervised were about to graduate, and their internship evaluation reports needed his signature. But some of them had written reports that made no sense at all, so Schiller had been busy with that these past few days.
