Because this disastrous movie nightmare incident had come on too fiercely, capable figures across the various Single Universes had pulled out every trick they had, and every civilization had resisted with all its strength. The spread of the nightmare was quickly contained. About a week later, even civilizations that were not particularly advanced, such as humanity, had basically brought the situation under control and prevented the terrible movie from causing greater harm.
But once the situation had largely stabilized, everyone had to consider one question: where had this terrible movie come from?
Although it manifested as dreams, with most people serving as human cameras within them, most civilizations could still tell that this was not a disaster caused by some flaw in the universe's operation. It was a construct of logic. Someone had arranged this dream into what it was.
Most people had no way to deal with dreams, but if someone had arranged one, there had to be a prototype, right? Even if they could not trace the source through a chain of evidence, the scenes appearing in the terrible movie and the logic behind its arrangement were enough to roughly guess which race had done this.

But there were far too many Earths in the Multiverse, and New Yorks on most of them looked roughly the same. It was difficult to pinpoint a specific Earth, so they could only start with the space station.
On most Earths,
