When the others looked down at the pool of psychedelic liquid again, they found that the several metals they had thrown in earlier had all vanished. Instead, Peter's body shimmered with twisting, psychedelic light, and his eyes gleamed with a metallic luster.
Jerome's eyes widened in surprise. He walked over to Peter and sniffed him, clearly catching the scent of the Dionysus Factor. He grabbed Peter's hand and produced a small knife from nowhere, seemingly intending to cut open Peter's palm.
Peter tried to pull his hand back in fright, but after glancing at Schiller and seeing no reaction on his face, he realized Jerome did not mean to hurt him. So he let Jerome hold his hand.
Jerome used the knife to slice Peter's palm without applying much force, but the instant the blade touched Peter's skin, it melted. The metal turned into a puddle of liquid and merged into Peter's body.
Peter blinked, unable to make sense of it, because he had not done it himself. He took a deep breath and focused on his palm. Before long, a small piece of black metal emerged there—the blade that had just been swallowed.
What was this, a human-shaped steel furnace? Peter was rather baffled. Then he felt as though he could control his own skin. He took another deep breath, and a silvery-white glow surfaced across his skin, instantly forming a new Spider-Man suit.
Cobblepot walked over and touched the skintight suit. "This looks like the piece of metal in Alfred's head—the fragment of a spaceship Thomas found in Africa."
"That is Nth Metal," Schiller said again. "It has many miraculous properties, but most importantly, it is extremely hard. Almost nothing can break through its defenses."
"You must have absorbed all five metals and gained their abilities," Schiller said.
