Before Main Universe Batman could finish, Bruce cut in. "We need to save someone!"
Every Batman turned to look at him. Bruce seemed to suddenly lose his nerve, shrinking his neck back as he cleared his throat. "I've got some new information. Do you want to hear it?"
All the Batmen became more attentive. Bruce simply ducked behind Owlman, poking out only his head. "I know of a Batman who received an invitation and confirmed it, but couldn't come."
"Couldn't come?" Batwoman carefully considered his wording. "You mean he couldn't make it? But that's not a big deal, is it? Entering Battleworld is entirely voluntary. If something came up at the last minute..."
"It wasn't something that came up at the last minute." Bruce said, "It's not that he didn't want to come. He couldn't come, ma'am. Can't you understand English?"
Batwoman choked on that, but Owlman turned to Bruce and said, "You'd better be polite to the only lady here."
"She's not the only one." Bruce kept arguing. "There should be another lady. She just hasn't arrived yet."
"You seem to know a great deal of different information." Arkham Batman's murderous gaze fell on Bruce.
"I was a beta Player too. Is it strange that I know different information? Enough of that. The point is, that guy didn't choose not to come. In his current condition, he simply can't come."
