"First... darkness."

"This is a necessary part of every movie."

A hoarse, deep voice spoke beside Schiller's ear, with that distinctly Batman-like diction.

"Then there's some incomprehensible company logo. Warner Bros.? Why not Warner Bros. Guys?"

Schiller cleared his throat and said, "We're not watching a movie. Can we skip all this and get straight to the beginning?"

He was currently standing in darkness. There was nothing above, below, left, or right—only a disk beneath his feet. As the disk shifted in every direction, it landed somewhere with a bang.

The darkness began to fade. Schiller was ready to step forward, but the disk suddenly plummeted.

Smack!

Schiller crashed straight onto the floor.

When he regained consciousness, he instinctively tried to stand, only to find one side of his body lacked strength. He kicked with his leg and flipped right over.

Looking down, he saw only one leg.

"Ah, I turned into a Lego minifigure too?!" Schiller complained. He had to roll around on the floor before struggling to stand on one leg, balancing like a flamingo as he started looking for the other leg that had fallen off.

Then, when he raised his arm, he discovered that the curved plastic piece making up his left hand was gone too. Should he say the bricks were pretty good quality? At least his head and body had not come apart.

Schiller sighed and looked around in the dim light. This narrow warehouse was not large, and there were not many places things could hide. His leg had most likely rolled beneath one of the shelves.

Schiller hopped forward, grabbed the shelf railing, and began searching beneath it for his leg while maintaining his flamingo stance.

He found it. By the faint light of the safety indicator ahead, Schiller spotted a leg
