Seeing Batman's expression, Schiller knew he had not given up on his plan. He still intended to seriously accomplish something, but judging by this world's style, he was unlikely to succeed. It would only make him a bigger joke.

They really did need to consider a practical problem now: could this group actually make it to the thirteenth floor? If not, they might have to apply a little outside force.

Even the ordinary maze on the fourth floor had trapped them for a long time. This was partly Schiller's own doing. With Batman's intelligence, navigating a maze should not have been difficult. Even without a map or the ability to fly up and look around, he should not have been stuck for this long.

But Schiller's lesson in social skills had made Batman overly concerned about his teammates' opinions. When Superman suggested a direction, Batman did not directly object and merely let them try it. When Wonder Woman claimed they had already passed an intersection, he did not deny it, doing his best to spare his teammates' feelings.

Their feelings had indeed been spared, but that did nothing to solve the problem. Under that bunch's chaotic leadership, they had strayed farther and farther off course, twisting what had been a fairly simple route into a tangled mess.

Though the world's will was undoubtedly behind some of this, Schiller thought it over and decided he had contributed quite a bit himself. This team still needed another brains-type member.

Before long, an echo rang through the previously empty maze. Everyone held their breath and listened closely, and Martian Hunter's voice reached their ears. "I've come to find you. There's a door near me. Where are you now?"

Superman looked as though he had been granted amnesty. "Great, Ron. We'll come find you.
