No specific quantity was discussed. With raw-material recycling technology, once they found better materials for building houses, they could return these components to the Lego universe to be reverted into plastic raw materials for the construction of their own universe. So it was essentially a loan, and naturally, they would receive as much as they needed.
The payment, of course, was neither ordinary money nor mechanical technology. Since technology in the Lego World was not particularly compatible with that of the real world, what they were actually trading was Materials Science technology.
