New York's weather was always bright and clear. The sky was so blue that it made every building on the ground seem darker, while the sunlight heightened the contrast of everything, making the bright brighter and the dark darker. By nine or ten in the morning, it was already dazzling enough to make people squint.

With two beeps from the coffee machine, rich, fragrant coffee flowed into the bottom of the cup. Schiller picked it up, took a slurp, and let out a long sigh.

The meal-delivery robot brought the fried toast to the table. Miss Aisha craned her neck curiously at the robot's arm. Just as her sharp teeth emerged, the machine said helplessly,

"Sorry, Miss Aisha. I have inferred that you may be inclined to test the machine's durability with your teeth. Please do not do so. I am very expensive, and I do not have medical insurance."

Miss Aisha immediately looked disappointed. Her eyes darted around before settling on the plate again.

Tall Jason seemed to fill the entire kitchen. He flipped the bread with a spatula, Tim washed the butter from his hands, and Dick and Raven were dealing with the broken toaster.

As he brought the coffee to the table, Schiller shouted, "Breakfast!"

Ultron was evidently notifying everyone in the rooms as well. Pamela emerged with bedhead, gave a huge yawn, then groggily walked over and sat at the table.

"What were you up to last night?" Schiller set the coffee in front of her and said, "I have to emphasize this again: I don't want to stop you from chatting on the Web, but I do hope you'll at least wear something while you do it. Underwear would do, all right?"

Pamela reached for a cigarette, but remembered that Miss Aisha was still there
