Miss Richie left, and Schiller knew he would not be able to stay much longer either. Sure enough, a group of people soon arrived in a hurry to take him away.

After discovering that Miss Richie was gone, they asked Schiller, "Where's that lunatic?"

"How would I know?"

"You were right next door to her!"

"I was next door to her, not in her room."

"Do you know how she got out?"

"Probably picked the lock."

"But she couldn't activate the elevator!"

"Then I don't know. If I knew, I could have escaped too. Would you still be seeing me here?"

They seemed to have no response. They opened the cell door and led Schiller out.

When they took Schiller away, they seemed to have completely sealed off the air-raid shelter, even welding the doors shut. Apparently, they had made up their minds not to let anyone inside.

Schiller was taken to the crematorium basement.

The moment he opened his eyes, he saw Williams again. Williams scrutinized him carefully, soon revealing a disappointed expression. Schiller guessed it was because he had not shown any fear of being kidnapped at all.

Schiller could have acted afraid, but he could not be bothered. So he sat there expressionlessly, staring Williams down.

"I think you know what it means for me to appear here." Williams seemed to be planning to intimidate him further.

"It means you want to silence me. Since I've seen your face, I definitely won't be leaving today. So don't bother trying to persuade me to do anything for you. I'm dead either way, and I won't do a thing."

Williams was visibly choked up. He had not expected Schiller's line of reasoning, yet he felt that Schiller made perfect sense.
