At the time, Circe's soul, once again separated from her body, no longer even had the strength to leave the room. If she failed to find a body for too long, then as her witchcraft power waned, her soul would enter the realm of death like that of an ordinary person.

Circe had only one choice left.

Schiller was the only living person left in the room. If Circe did not possess him, she would die. But if she could possess and control Schiller, she would not only save her own life, but also use witchcraft to trap and torture him, avenging herself.

Circe did not hesitate.

Schiller had once accepted her power—the bestial transformation curse. And now, the curse on him had worsened severely; he was only one step away from returning to beast form. Possessing him was effortless.

But only after possessing Schiller did Circe realize that this was not Schiller's weakness, but a trap.

She was trapped inside Schiller's mental world.

Originally, only Schiller had been plagued by the illusion of that enormous straw maze. Now the maze had gained a new resident: Circe, who had tried to invade Schiller's mental world.

Even more terrifyingly, Circe's forced intrusion into his mental world further worsened Schiller's mental state.

The consequence of his further weakened mental defenses was that the effects of gazing directly upon Nyarlathotep grew increasingly severe. The city in the sky began to collapse, and Nyarlathotep's immense phantom form flickered in and out of sight on the horizon.

Circe was also in spiritual form now. The final barrier that could shield her from the Outer God's corruption—a physical body—no longer existed for her. If she looked directly at Nyarlathotep under such circumstances, her soul would explode into fireworks in an instant.

Circe fled for her life
