"What?!" Rocket Raccoon stared at Lyra in shock. "Come on, you just poisoned them. Are you trying to walk right into a trap?"
"I told you, it wasn't poisoning." Lyra shook her head. "Did you think I didn't investigate the Andromeda galaxy before taking the job? Or do you think I wouldn't recognize Professor X?"
Rocket Raccoon froze. Of course he didn't think Lyra was that reckless. In fact, the reason an otter like her had done so well in the universe was entirely because she was cautious and meticulous, making every possible preparation before taking action.
If that was the case, then she definitely knew there was a mind-reading Mutant in the Andromeda galaxy. In other words, if things really were as she said, then she wasn't afraid of being discovered by the Mutants at all, because one look into her mind would reveal that she hadn't lied.
And she surely knew that Professor X wasn't the type to kill a thousand innocent people rather than let one guilty person escape. He was relatively mild-mannered. Even toward aliens, as long as they still had some value, he wouldn't slaughter them indiscriminately.
Perhaps Lyra had deliberately remained in the Andromeda galaxy. With her abilities, even if she had poisoned the central region of the Andromeda galaxy, she could have escaped. Why insist on faking her death on some planet and waiting for someone to rescue her? She was bound to be found eventually.
