Just as Schiller was about to throw a second punch, Bruce caught his wrist. Bruce's other hand swung back with a punch, but Schiller dodged it.
Schiller broke free of Bruce's grip and was about to draw his knife when Owlman raised the pistol in his hand and aimed it at Schiller's head.
"If you move again, I'm going to shoot," Owlman said.
"I'd advise you not to do that." Pale Rider suddenly spoke up. "I have a way to make sure your bullet can't hit him. Want to try it?"
Schiller narrowed his eyes slightly. He knew Pale Rider was preparing to show his hand as well. He might possess some kind of protective talent skill, but there was no way to know for sure until he actually used it. Perhaps Pale Rider's goal was the same as his own: to find out what Owlman's skill was.
It was obvious from Pale Rider's manner that he had a very low opinion of Owlman, this evil Batman. After all, he was a righteous Joker, so naturally his corresponding arch-nemesis should have been an evil Batman. Pale Rider had probably wanted to make a move against Owlman for a long time.
Although Owlman was an evil Batman, he was still Batman. Of course, he could understand why Pale Rider had said that. But the initiative in this little probing game was not in his hands now. It was in Schiller's, the one holding the knife.
If Schiller attacked Bruce, Owlman fired, and Pale Rider then used his talent skill to protect Schiller, Bruce would be the only unlucky one.
