After hearing that name, Schiller showed no emotional reaction at all. He even wanted to laugh.
What a tiny game scenario—yet it was crawling with hidden dragons and crouching tigers. Dagon had clocked in right on time, Autumn and Nya had arrived at just the right moment, and Eihort had not been idle either.
Busy. Everyone was busy. Better to be busy.
How had he never noticed that the God of Stories loved piling things on so much? Why not just throw in a whole Outer God family portrait while he was at it?
Though he mocked it inwardly, Schiller still asked, "Does that so-called Wanderer have anything to do with you?"
Gad nodded. "That is me. More precisely, it is one of His avatars."
"You said it was your blood."
"Yes. Whenever I see Him in my dreams, my blood is driven by Him to leave my body and wander endlessly somewhere far away. Once I wake from the dream, the Wanderer returns as well."
"But..." Gad's expression turned ugly. "For some reason, after the Wanderer left a few days ago, it never came back. That was why the Pope managed to capture me..."
Schiller understood. No need to ask—Greed had done it.
Now the whole chain of events connected again.
Gad had originally been an ordinary investigator. After becoming involved in the hotel incident, he came into contact with the Outer God Eihort. Enticed by Him, Gad became His servant and the vessel for one of His fragments.
Having become an Outer God's servant, he had gained immortality. The Pope wanted the same, so he had tried to obtain the secret from Gad. But Gad had backing, after all. The Pope probably could not truly do much to him and could only use him as a church figurehead
