The Andromeda galaxy was the nearest supermassive galaxy to the Milky Way Galaxy, roughly twice its size.
When human astronomy had only just begun to develop, this enormous galaxy had already aroused endless human curiosity.
First, because it was very similar in shape to the Milky Way Galaxy, both appearing spindle-shaped. Second, it was an exceptionally beautiful galaxy, brightly visible in the autumn night sky, inspiring humanity's most wonderful imaginings of the universe.
The entire Andromeda galaxy contained roughly one trillion stars. Naturally, that included many aging stars gradually heading toward destruction, as well as newborn stars just beginning to show signs of life. But even the mature stars in their prime far outnumbered those of the Milky Way Galaxy.
At the very center of the Andromeda galaxy, at its brightest central point, lay the Andromeda Great Nebula, the brightest and most prosperous region in the entire Andromeda galaxy.
Humans had observed two major cores within the Nebula. At the center of one was a supermassive black hole, while the other was where civilizations within Andromeda had arisen.
Within the central galaxy of one core of the Andromeda Great Nebula were the three foremost civilizations of the galaxy. One of them was the well-known Symbiote civilization.
