He knew he could not go on like this, so he desperately wanted to find something to do. First was the promise he had made Fiona: he would uncover the truth behind Willie's death and never let him be slandered after sacrificing himself.

The Pale Rider came to the Gotham Police Department. He needed to learn about the situation from Gordon, because the police had been the most numerous people at the scene.

Gordon had also been following the case.

"You finally showed up. This little girl has been giving me a headache. She says she's your special assistant. You'd better tell me she's lying."

Fiona rushed straight out through the door and said to the Pale Rider, "Mayor, I found a clue! My father stepped away to take a phone call during the protest, but they won't let me investigate who owned the number. Please help me!"

The Pale Rider frowned slightly and looked at Gordon. Gordon first glanced at the red-haired little girl beside them, then pulled the Pale Rider to the end of the corridor and said, "Are you really going to let her know?"

"Know what?"

"That call was made by your aide, Schiller," Gordon said. "Do you want her to suspect you?"

The Pale Rider froze, then grabbed Gordon and asked, "When was that call made? I need the exact time."

Gordon gave him a time precise to the minute, and the Pale Rider took out his phone and scrolled through its messages.
