In the lower-right corner of the map, Schiller drew the symbol of the Order Cult and wrote down its name. Now, he wrote "East India Company" in the lower-left corner as well.

Both organizations had originated in Britain, but their influence was worlds apart. Compared to the East India Company, the Order Cult was practically invisible. Hardly anyone had even heard of it.

But Schiller knew things were probably not that simple.

This went back to the plot of the original comics. Skipping over a lengthy investigation arc, the final outcome was that Bakar, a priest of the Order Cult, defeated the fallen Edmund Wayne and killed him, restoring peace to Gotham.

The phrase "fallen Edmund Wayne" was quite interesting. Based on certain hints in the original comics, Gotham seemed to truly have some kind of curse. Whoever took control of the city would become corrupt and cruel.

But suppose there had never been any magical influence, nor any actual curse. Then what exactly had Edmund's so-called fall been?

Schiller guessed it might have referred to Edmund's cooperation with the East India Company.

That company's methods went far beyond those of a cult. The world's most notorious cults were child's play compared to it. Even NAZI's highest massacre record was not worth a hair on its head, and Hydra would have had to call it their patriarch.

If cooperating with a company like that did not count as corruption, then nothing did.

If Bakar had discovered Edmund's cooperation with the East India Company, judged him fallen, and killed him, then an unsolvable question arose: how had Bakar won?

The East India Company of that era might not have been at its peak, but it had at least already ruled half the world. Bakar, born into the Order Cult, fought Edmund,
