At dusk, Gotham Bridge exhaled iron-gray mist. With the chaos in both the upper and lower districts, there was little traffic. Schiller's car sped across the bridge, turned, and headed for Wayne Tower.

As it rolled over the speed bump at the entrance, the densely packed windows of Wayne Tower gradually lit up. The wipers swept the mist from the windshield as Schiller slowly drove through the front gates.

He knew Mr. Freeze could not hold Batman for long. Batman should be standing at the very top of the tower by now. It was not a bat's natural habit, but he had nowhere else to go.

Schiller called him.

"I have something I want to discuss with you. I promise it's extremely important... Yes, after I blew up your house."

"Two minutes."

In an office at Wayne Tower, Batman had buried himself in a mountain of documents again. His investigation was progressing more slowly than Schiller's, but not by much.

"Jason..."

"This is what you called extremely important?"

"So your missing adopted son isn't important to you? Then I suppose I was being presumptuous." Schiller smiled.

"One and a half minutes."

"You really know how to save money." Schiller did not mind his attitude at all. In fact, he was trying to avoid provoking a cornered beast and soothe him as much as possible.

"Jason gave you a little gift." Schiller stated it rather than asked. "He said there was a minor problem with it and it needed to be sent back to the factory for repairs. I can help you send him back."

Batman looked at him as though he were insane.

"Listen, I have absolutely no interest in your tedious father-son games. But you'd better let me see that thing..." Schiller was persuading him with the utmost patience.
