If you ignored the clinking of the money bag in Schiller's arms, his words sounded quite sincere. And if you looked at the pliers in his hand, they became positively heartrending.

Looking at the two nearly identical men before him, Raven thought back over his recent experiences and decided the hospital really did need a more dedicated receptionist.

Wood was his old partner, but as the saying went, out with the old, in with the new.

"Fine," Raven said. "But I can't interfere with the hospital's will. You'll have to make it acknowledge you."

"How do I make it acknowledge me?"

Raven paused, then said meaningfully, "Since you've already guessed something, do as you suspect you should. In short, work hard."

After saying that, he hurriedly flew away. He flew off so fast that he did not even care when two feathers fell out. It was obvious how desperately he wanted to get away from those two.

The two Schillers exchanged a look. Schiller spoke first. "Do you think Wood can come back?"

"What do you think?"

"As far as I know, Westchester isn't exactly nearby." Schiller stroked his chin. "The journey is long and fraught with danger. The odds of successfully reaching this place aren't very high."

"Our esteemed nurse thought so too." Pride nodded. "You'll be seeing her soon enough."

Pride followed the passage back to his operating room. Schiller waited in the Triage Room. Before long, the Triage Room also shut down, and the windows were covered by some unknown black shadow. After a period of total darkness, the furniture returned.

If the Bear Attendant had accepted furniture, Schiller would have found another path to riches.
