The moment the thought occurred to him, Schiller pulled out his phone and called Loki.

"Hello? Are you out of Battleworld?"

Loki seemed to be working on the other end of the line, with the constant sound of papers rustling in the background. Holding the phone, he said, "I just got out. We barely managed to complete our mission. What is it?"

"How is Malekith?"

"Who?" Loki clearly did not react at first.

"Malekith, the leader of the Dark Elves!"

There was a long silence on the other end before Loki said, "Isn't he with the humans? Did you forget the last time you wiped out the Dark Elves? More accurately, the time you wiped out the Dark Elves?"

Memories flashed through his mind. Schiller looked at Khonshu, and Khonshu silently looked back at him.

The one Malekith had encountered last time was Moonlight Schiller.

The situation at the time could basically be summed up as drums pounding, firecrackers exploding, red flags waving, and crowds everywhere—all there to stop Moonlight Schiller from beating Malekith to death.

The final outcome seemed to have been that Schiller cleared the field of Dark Elves with one ultimate move. Malekith had survived only because he was close to The Ancient One and escaped under her shield. As for where he went afterward, Schiller was not entirely sure.

"The Ancient One couldn't have taken Malekith out of the Nine Realms," Loki said. "Any racial leader within the Nine Realms needs Odin's permission to leave. If Odin received no report, then Malekith never left."

"Do you think The Ancient One killed him?"

"Probably not," Loki said. "The Ancient One has never gone easy on those who invade Earth, but if keeping someone alive could bring greater benefits, she would rather let them atone through service."
