Danny lay flat on the ground, gasping for breath. No matter how many times he called out in his mind, the Spirit of Vengeance remained as silent as if it were dead, showing no sign of responding. Even Ms. Frances had vanished.

"Where did you send them?" Danny muttered quietly.

"I know you've been getting close to that psychiatrist lately. You should take this chance to have him examine you," Johnny said, leaning against the wall nearby. "If you keep going crazy like this, you're really going to get yourself killed."

"I'm not crazy. Everything I said is true!" Danny struggled to roll over, trying to get up from the floor, but failed. The wound on his hand hurt too badly. The instant it touched the ground, his muscles contracted instinctively, and he collapsed again.

"I didn't say you were lying," Johnny said. "The Spirit of Vengeance can detect lies and judge the sins buried deep in a person's heart. If that's the case, why doesn't the Spirit of Vengeance inside you support you either?"

Danny had no answer. He lay there, utterly dejected.

"You found useful information, probably faster than anyone else. Iron Man may still be calibrating his equipment, Spider-Man hasn't even finished work for the day, Moon Knight is probably staring at the moon and contemplating life, and I haven't finished gathering people yet. You're ahead of everyone."

"But that doesn't matter. Danny, this isn't a race to see who reaches the finish line first. You can't knock down every hurdle in a hurdles race and charge across the finish line first. That isn't victory. That's insanity."

"But if I can investigate the clues faster, I can catch the Black Hand behind this!"

"Why do you want to catch the Black Hand?"

"Because he's doing bad things!
