That meant two things. First, humanity's strength exceeded his imagination. They had technology or magic he knew nothing about, and they had used it to steal his spaceship. Second, he had no way out.

More importantly, by invading Earth, he had offended the entire Green Lantern Corps. Hal practically controlled the whole Corps now. The moment Zod dared leave Earth, he would face their endless pursuit. Without a spaceship capable of blocking Green Lantern energy, he alone could never outlast so many Green Lanterns.
In other words, if this plan failed, he would become a fugitive for good. In a universe this vast, there would be nowhere left for him.

The one who slowly entered the cave was a green-skinned Martian. He wore armor made from animal hide and iron chains, with a savage-looking face and a pair of beastlike crimson eyes.
"I told you, the Multiverse is complicated. There are always exceptions. You thought you had an intelligence advantage and lost your patience, exposing yourself to them too early. If you failed, that was entirely your own fault."
