After taking down Yorton, Schiller did not spare his corpse a second glance. Instead, he went to his car to retrieve the First Aid Kit, then led Aisha upstairs.
Aisha was startled when she saw the filthy little girl lying on the bed, but she quickly understood what had happened.
"He didn't kill her?" Aisha said in surprise. "I thought he was that kind of freak... Why didn't he kill her?"
"That's the strange part, but this isn't the time to investigate it." Schiller opened the suitcase beside them, picked out a set of Aisha's clothes, and said to her, "When she wakes up, clean her up first, then bandage her wounds and change her into these clothes. Can you do that?"
"Don't worry." Aisha patted her chest.
"Good. I'll go downstairs and make something to eat. There are still two corpses to deal with." Schiller turned and headed for the door.
Schiller went downstairs and searched through the kitchen first. Fortunately, Yorton had brought back quite a few fresh vegetables from the warehouse earlier.
After giving it some thought, he decided to make a bowl of oatmeal and some salt-steamed vegetables. They should be easy to digest.
The oatmeal was simple: just put the oats in a pot and cook them. Salt-steamed vegetables were simply steamed vegetables with a little salt sprinkled over them. It was all done in a little over ten minutes.
When Schiller brought the food upstairs, the little girl had already awakened, and Aisha was chattering away to her.
Betty looked somewhat dazed, as though her mind kept wandering. Schiller set down the food while Aisha tugged Betty toward the bathroom.
