Ron still wanted to keep trying to dissuade Lex, but Lex asked an even more astonishing question at that moment:
"Would this kind of psychic attack work on Kryptonians?"
Ron immediately realized what he was planning. After thinking it over carefully, he said, "Kryptonians may have Super Brains, but they have no special defenses against psychic abilities. Otherwise, Ma'lfak wouldn't have been able to cause such a huge mess."
Lex knew Ron was referring to how Ma'lfak had previously disrupted Injustice Superman's mind and driven him mad in Metropolis. Although Injustice Superman's mental state had been poor at the time, Ma'lfak was nowhere near as powerful as Ron. If he could interfere with a Kryptonian, then Ron certainly could.
Lex guessed that Ron was considered one of the stronger Martians. Even so, the Martian average was hardly weak. Any devices they had made could surely interfere with Kryptonians.
"Drag Zod to Mars and fight him there?" Lex pondered silently. "This plan is feasible."
In truth, Zod's attack had already failed completely before it had even begun. He had no idea Earth possessed a magical defense network, trusted Ma'lfak's inaccurate intelligence from another universe, got provoked by Bruce, and lost his ship. This war was already impossible to fight.
But every Intelligent Life form fell into one trap: sunk costs. And the sunk cost Zod found most unbearable was the loss of his ship.
This could no longer even be called a sunk cost. Without his ship, Zod could not travel too far from the Solar System. Crossing the universe in the flesh was still a little too idealistic.
No matter how fast Kryptonians flew, without an FTL engine, it would take them forever to reach their destination. Their physical durability also had limits. If they encountered a large-scale cosmic disaster,
