Superman led Damian and the two people from the other universe on a tour of the surface. Just as Diana had guessed, Hal quickly found traces of residual energy near the collected city. He came up with the same plan as Diana.
"We need to preserve an energy sample from this place." Hal looked down at the rubble and said, "I can use Green Lantern energy to break down the structures of the objects here, extract the unusual energy within them, and bring it back to base. Bruce might be able to decipher its structure and find a way to interfere with it."

The two of them had seen how formidable these people were in the other universe, but most of the time, they had not seen them act personally. Compared to Superman, Batman could make out more details.
The Green Lantern of their universe had a bad habit whenever he acted. Even if another method of controlling Green Lantern energy would accomplish something faster, he would choose the more conservative approach.
Batman had asked around indirectly before, and Green Lantern's explanation had been that the ring's energy was limited. If he squandered it recklessly, he would soon need to recharge it, and the lantern might not give him
