In distant Massachusetts, United States, there was a magical school called Ilvermorny. Every year, it recruited children with magical talent from all over the world, educating them to help maintain and protect Earth's magical defense network.
There were three protagonists, the classic two boys and one girl, except they came from different countries. The oldest boy was an American local from Queens, New York, and his family was fairly ordinary; the younger boy was an exchange student from Hong Kong, with the best family circumstances among them; while the girl came from a wizarding family in Kenya, Africa. Her mother was related to Storm, and her father came from Wakanda, putting her family somewhere between those of the two boys.
These three children were not actors—they were real Little Sorcerers. Most of the other supporting characters were also Little Sorcerers who had once studied at Kamar-Taj. After all, the film would mainly showcase magic, and there would be quite a few scenes requiring it. Ordinary actors could easily be hurt by magic, so aside from a few special roles, everyone involved was from their circle.
