"I have a feeling something's wrong," the Skrull Emperor said over the channel. "I know Earth. They wouldn't give up the Moon so easily. If they planted explosives inside it, the damage could be considerable."
"I don't care!" Lilandra said. "Whatever's in there, as long as the yield is high enough, destroy it all together. Prepare to fire!"
The Skrull Emperor said nothing more. The Supreme Intelligence had offered no suggestions from beginning to end, either. They also wanted to use the Shi'ar Empire to gauge humanity's true strength and find out what they were really up to.
"General Vitus! Pass down the order. Have the main guns of every Dual-God Level Capital Ship charge to maximum power. Fire simultaneously and destroy that satellite immediately!"
"Yes, Your Majesty. Bzzzt... bzzzt..."
"Hello? General? Is there interference on your end? What's with that static? Hello???"
The four Dual-God Level Capital Ships slowly approached the Moon, turned, and exposed their main gun barrels.
As dazzling light flared, the main guns gradually charged to maximum power.
Three, two, one...
Light suddenly blazed.
Yet the tiny satellite surrounded by enormous warships was not destroyed as everyone had expected. Screams rang out around the Moon.
The instant the main guns fired, the four capital ships rapidly turned and aimed at the forces on the perimeter. Four blasts later, misery and devastation filled the surrounding space.
"Professor X!" The Skrull Emperor practically slammed his hand onto the table as he rose. "So it wasn't that simple! That bastard controlled the Shi'ar brainwaves... No, wait, what's going on?"
"The crew members aboard the four capital ships are committing suicide," the Supreme Intelligence said. "It isn't Professor X. I specifically deployed brainwave detection and shielding devices. There has been no abnormal brainwave activity on either Earth or the Moon.
