Batman arrived at Arkham Asylum. But it was quite different from the Arkham Asylum he remembered.
Although the Main Universe's Arkham Asylum looked like a prison, aside from its stricter security, it did have Doctors, and they were all highly professional. Every psychiatric patient received proper treatment, even enjoying better medical resources than patients in many other places.
But the moment Batman stepped into this universe's Arkham Asylum, he understood that this was no hospital at all. Calling it a prison would practically be an insult to prisons. Batman had only felt an atmosphere like this in certain US Military human experimentation facilities he had destroyed before.
Everyone wore identical uniforms, expressionless and unsmiling. They looked more like professional agents than asylum staff. Security robots patrolled around the clock, psychiatric patients were nowhere to be seen, while Doctors in white coats—or rather, researchers—came and went in a constant stream.
The security was tight, but it clearly could not stop Batman. Especially after he had confiscated Jason's headphones and those control devices as "surgery fees," these patrolling security robots and cameras were even less of a concern.
Batman picked up the headphones and operated them. The security robots in the corridor immediately stopped moving. After Batman climbed into the corridor, the two robots and the surveillance cameras might as well have gone blind; they could not see a living, breathing person breaking in.
Elliot was willing to spend money, but his thinking was flawed. Fully electronic security isn't secure at all. Even if humans were fragile, they were still large animals, and dealing with them took some effort. Now that everything had been turned into robots, a few Trojan programs could render them useless.
From that, Batman could infer that Wayne Enterprises had fallen into the wrong hands under Elliot. The
