"How had Schiller appeared at that intersection?!" Laughing Man was briefly seized by fear, then suddenly looked toward the hospital building.

Right. Although he had hacked the surveillance cameras at every entrance to the hospital, there were no cameras on the rooftop access door. And to the right of the hospital stood a building roughly the same height, not far away.

While he had been focused on the chaos in the streets, Schiller could very well have gone upstairs, exited through the rooftop door, jumped to the neighboring building, and then come down from there, completely avoiding the hospital's cameras.

And that building was not far from the intersection in front of him. Schiller could get here with barely any detour. Laughing Man calculated the timing and concluded that Schiller had likely taken that route.

But he was not particularly nervous. Even if there were not many people at the intersection, there were several trucks and plenty of soldiers, all dressed similarly. Schiller could not possibly identify him so quickly, and those soldiers would never let him search around here so openly.

The spiked visor on Laughing Man's head was not merely decorative. It was a device capable of reading brainwaves. It could not reach the level of mind-reading, but it could judge a person's emotions through changes in their brainwaves. Some of the soldiers patrolling the intersection had already grown suspicious. Laughing Man wanted to see how Schiller would deal with these heavily armed security personnel.

He had thought he could sit in the truck and watch the tigers fight from the mountain, but the next second, the figure holding the blade charged straight toward him.
