"Meet in the east courtyard." The note's contents were very simple. The strokes had pressed through the paper, making it clear just how furious the writer had been when putting pen to paper. Owlman, who received the note, merely gave a disdainful snort. He was no longer afraid of Arkham Batman.
Before class had even ended, he was already heading toward the east courtyard. Since most students had not gotten out of class yet, the courtyard was empty, but Arkham Batman was already waiting there.
"I didn't expect you to come so quickly," Owlman said. "What do you want? Beat me up? I'm afraid you can't do that right now."
"Yes, so I wasn't planning to beat you up."
Arkham Batman took half a step toward him, but Owlman instinctively took a large step back. Then he suddenly realized what he had just done and clenched his fists in anger.
It wasn't his fault. The man before him was less a person than a monster, or perhaps a cold, ruthless fighting machine. No one knew when he might suddenly lash out. Although he looked little different from most Bruces, that face carried an extra measure of intimidation.
Suddenly, Owlman saw something glittering fly from Arkham Batman's hand. It traced a graceful arc through the air before landing on the ground with a smack.
"I'll give you one last chance." There was an inexplicable hint of amusement in Arkham Batman's voice. "Pick it up, and our grudge will be wiped clean. I can help others, so naturally I can help you too."
An endless fury surged straight to Owlman's head. What did he mean by that? Was he teasing a dog?!
Owlman was just about to curse at him when Arkham Batman's expression turned cold. "Owlman, you really are trash. If
