"Where's the nearest back door?!" Lex Luthor rushed out from behind the counter, grabbed Stagg by the collar, and demanded, "The kind that leads to an alley!"
Stagg had no idea what was going on, but he instinctively pointed toward a passage beside the elevator. "Over there."
Luthor had originally been heading that way at a brisk pace, but then he heard a series of heavy footsteps from the stairwell nearby. The moment he passed through the fire door, he saw several people in FBI-marked tactical jackets charging out through the security door.
Luthor cursed through gritted teeth and sprinted toward the back door. The FBI agents ran in the same direction.
Luthor rushed out through the back door, looked both ways, and chose the direction with more plants and denser shade. But just as he reached the middle of the road, a car suddenly shot out from around the corner.

Luthor was sent flying, landing at least three meters away. The FBI agents chasing him slammed on the brakes and stopped by the roadside. Schiller got out of the car, checked Luthor's condition on the ground, and said, "Assaulting an officer, obstructing official duties, and interfering with an investigation. Take him away."
Back at the base, Schiller took off his tactical jacket, straightened his shirt collar, made himself a cup of coffee at the machine, and carried it to Wonder Woman's interrogation room. He did not go inside. Instead, he leaned against the doorway and told the three people playing cards inside, "It's settled."
All three turned to look at him.
"Did you figure out what happened?" Natasha asked.
"Did you clear up the rumors?" Superman asked.
"Can I leave now?" Wonder Woman asked.
"None of that is settled," Schiller said.
