"Agent Romanov? Agent Romanov?!"
Natasha heard someone calling her, so she forced her eyes open. The glaring light reminded her of the flash she had seen before losing consciousness—shining through rain-streaked glass, defying every law of physics, exceptionally cold and exceptionally gentle.
Natasha opened her eyes and, the instant she saw Schiller's face, instinctively reached out and grabbed him by the throat.
Schiller made no sound, only a low, muffled exhale. Seeing his sharply furrowed brows and drooping brow tails, Natasha came back to herself.
"Sorry, Agent. I wasn't fully awake yet." Natasha withdrew her hand.
"Do you remember what happened?" Schiller asked.
Natasha frowned and began to recall. "After I fought the president's security adviser, the reporters rushed in. I spotted a red-haired figure in the crowd. I chased after her, and then she told me her name was Lena Luthor..."
"Luthor?"
"Yes. She said she was Lex Luthor's sister." Natasha took a breath and continued, "We talked about what she had done before. I pointed out some suspicious details, and then..."
"And then what?"
"I realized something was wrong." Natasha turned to Schiller. "Where is Moon Knight now?"
"Remember how the Justice League was going to build a base in Gotham? All the Justice League members have gone to inspect the site, and Batman seems to be planning to perform a magic trick for them."
"A magic trick? What kind of magic trick?"
"Conjuring a building out of thin air. With magic."
"With magic? So he really did obtain power from Mount Olympus. Are the gods dead?"
"Batman drained most of them dry, though some things remain on Mount Olympus. He plans to use the Justice League's power to deal with them, but that comes later."
"I don't want to joke around anymore." Natasha stared at Schiller gravely.
