Arkham Batman strode into the Justice League's Gotham base office and saw Wonder Woman slumped over the desk. The instant she saw him, she had wanted to walk over, but seemed to remember something and took several steps back.

"Don't be like that, Diana," Arkham Batman said, taking the initiative to step forward. "I never doubted you. What happened back then had nothing to do with you, and you've been doing everything you could to make up for it. I know all that."

Wonder Woman's emotions were like a mountain flood that had been trapped for too long and had finally found a breach. She walked over and hugged Arkham Batman tightly. He patted her back reassuringly.

"I came back because I made a decision." Arkham Batman gently pushed Wonder Woman away, then cupped her face in both hands and looked directly into her eyes. "I chose to trust all of you. You need to help me do something, Diana."

Wonder Woman clearly was not the type to wallow in sorrow. Although tears had already filled her eyes, not a single one fell. She merely took a deep breath, gripped Arkham Batman's wrist in return, and said, "What do you need me to do?"

"Electronic Life wants to lure me to the Amazon, then use the opportunity to cause trouble on the federal mainland. It's like the dilemma Joker forced on me back then: if I don't go, I can't save the people on that ship; if I do go, people on the federal mainland may die. But I will never allow that to happen."

Wonder Woman's expression turned grim. She had not expected such a conspiracy behind it all, but she also understood how much trust Arkham Batman had placed in her by choosing to appear before her now.
