Main Universe Superman hurried back to his own universe, but he couldn't find Batman in Justice Hall. Not at the outpost either, nor in the Batcave. In the end, he spotted Batman at the docks. He had just dealt with a thug robbing disaster relief supplies.

Main Universe Batman punched the thug to the ground, slammed two more punches into his face, twisted his arm behind his back, cuffed him, and escorted him into a police car.

Main Universe Superman flew over and landed slowly beside him. Main Universe Batman turned to glance at him, wiped the rainwater from his face, and said nothing.

"I wasn't trying to use you," he suddenly said. "I just thought you should know."

"I should know. You seem much calmer now." Main Universe Superman looked at him. "I thought you'd avoid me."

"I had no reason to."

"You always do this. You told me because you wanted to send me away. You thought I'd stay there for a long time and not come back, so you could have your so-called time alone to think. Are you disappointed to see me back?"

Those words should have sounded somewhat aggressive, but Main Universe Batman could not hear even a trace of accusation in them. Superman had always been good at making accusatory remarks sound like genuine concern and greetings. Someone else was exactly the opposite.

"Why did you come at this hour?" The lean, slender figure by the window turned around, watching Main Universe Batman shake the rain from his cape at the doorway. "How's the post-disaster recovery going? Things haven't descended into chaos, have they?"

"Not bad. A few people tried to take advantage of the situation. Electronic Life cut the power a few more times, but none of the facilities were particularly important. Joker
