Though he appeared to pursue profit relentlessly, he was not purely profit-driven. He rather enjoyed doing things that served no purpose but gave him an outlet for his emotions.

That was the fundamental reason most versions of Loki failed—he let the tangled love and hatred in his heart control his mind, causing mistakes in either decision-making or execution.

People assumed that those traumatized in childhood, who felt unloved, would be more likely to close off their hearts, become cold, and abandon everything for profit. But that was not true at all. Conversely, the more love one received, the more complete one's personality became, and the more one could remain objective and calm while pursuing benefits. They knew that whether they succeeded or failed, someone would love them. They did not need to prove anything. Because they had confidence, they would not fret over gains and losses, and were far less likely to lose their heads over a temporary setback.
