As dense darkness surged in, Schiller heard the rustling of pages and the murmured whispers of young people. When the light returned before his eyes, he found himself in a university classroom.

He turned his head and looked around, confirming that it was not the university he had attended, though it looked like some American university. It was currently break time, and students were leaving in twos and threes. Two or three students remained in their seats, flipping through a book and talking quietly as they read.

Schiller pretended to head for the door as well, but as he passed their desks, he caught sight of the book's title—The Way of the Mind, by Charles Xavier.

Schiller frowned slightly. He guessed that this was Charles's dream, but why did it look like this? He had thought they would immediately appear on a beach, where Magneto would reach out at a hail of bullets, and one unlucky round would strike Charles in the lumbar spine, eventually leaving him paralyzed.

If that were the case, then no explanation Magneto gave would matter. They would win this round without needing to do much. Yet Charles's nightmare was not that famous beach divorce scene everyone knew so well.

No wonder Dream Power Doctor Strange had dared to suggest this format for the contest. Perhaps Charles had long known that his nightmare would not be the day he broke with Magneto. Otherwise, they were already outnumbered, and with one guaranteed loss, they would never have proposed a match.

When they were short on numbers, they had to be confident they could take all three rounds and then win one from the other side. Thinking about it, that made sense. Charles and Erik knew each other extremely well, so entering each other's nightmares made it easy
