The moment he pushed open the door, he found the place completely redecorated: pumpkins were piled by the entrance, bat decorations hung from the ceiling, and the mannequin had been changed into yellow-and-purple clothes with a wizard's hat on its head. Just inside the door stood a long row of candy shelves.

"Good morning," Schiller said. "I'm here to buy candy."

"Professor Rodriguez," the clerk said with a smile. "I didn't expect you to still be holding out here. When are you planning to move to the Inner World?"

"I'm not going," Schiller said. "I still have to work at Gotham University..."

"Isn't that perfect, then?" the clerk said with a smile. "I heard there's an entrance that leads straight to Gotham University. If housing there weren't so expensive, I'd want to move there too. I hear commuting is much more convenient than outside."

"You're right, housing is too expensive." Schiller shook his head. "My current home is quite nice, and I don't plan to move. Do you have any candy recommendations?"

"The varieties over there are all pretty good, but there aren't many people in our community and hardly any children. No one will probably come asking for candy. If you don't like eating it yourself, you should buy less."

Schiller nodded and went to pick out candy. There were not many children in his community, but he believed plenty of people would rather travel halfway across the city than miss the chance to ask him for candy, just
