Greed walked into the house and looked over the furnishings again. He set down his suitcase and took off his coat. He was wearing a camel turtleneck cashmere sweater, casual trousers, and black-rimmed glasses.

"You look like you're going on vacation at a vineyard," Pride said as he carried the boxes of ingredients into the house. "You came at just the right time. We're out of firewood, so we may have to go chop some in the forest."

"You're joking, right? The wind outside is this strong, and you're planning to take an axe out to chop trees?"

"Not me. Us. Unless you plan to stay away from the fireplace for the rest of the day, we have to go together."

Greed sighed helplessly. "We finally get to spend some time together in reality. I had such high expectations for it, but the first activity you arranged is going into the forest to chop firewood in a gale? Even in Gotham, that seems a little insane, doesn't it?"

Pride had already brought over the tools. He handed one of the axes to Greed and said, "Trust me. It's precisely because Gotham has gotten better that we can go chop firewood in weather like this without running into some strange person halfway there, or a monster crawling out of the lake."

Greed reluctantly put his coat back on, took the axe, and said, "If you get arrested for illegally cutting down Natural Forest Land, I am absolutely not paying your bail."
