Fortunately, the alien engineers had enough self-awareness not to wander too far. They merely looked around the vicinity of the Southern Cross. Since Centaurus was close by, and Pikachu's tavern was near Morning Star and rather conspicuous, some of them inevitably piloted their ships over there.

On a desolate planet, a tavern rising from the ground was quite eye-catching. The building did not look like some deadly trap either, so quite a few aliens chose to fly over and take a look.

Schiller was behind the bar polishing a glass when he heard the hum of a spaceship landing. He looked up toward the door and saw a tall, purple-skinned alien walk in. They stared at each other, both stunned.

Schiller was wondering why there was an alien here. He knew construction had already begun over at Crux II, but he had not expected anyone to wander this way so soon. The alien, meanwhile, looked as though he had seen a ghost—why had he thought this place did not look like a deadly trap???

"Hello. What would you like to drink?" Schiller asked, out of professional ethics.

"Uh, hello. Are you human? Don't misunderstand, it's just that my personal terminal's species scan says you are..."

"I'm human, and I'm also the bartender here. What would you like to drink?"

"Uh, this is a bar? A place where people drink?"

"Yes. You can drink here, and if you get drunk, there are rooms upstairs where you can sleep. The menu is on the table. If you need anything, I can introduce it to you."

The tall alien cautiously sat down and glanced at the menu. He seemed completely unable to understand the colorful drinks listed on it, but he did not dare ask too many questions, so he pointed at one
