"What do you mean?"
"Those strange clones."
"They're all quite peaceful." Schiller took out his phone and showed him a photo. "Pamela's cultivation strategy has been very successful. The seed survival rate reached 90%, and there don't seem to be any nutritional problems either. That means we can begin growing plants on planets in Centaurus. The only problem is—getting the soil and fertilizer is a bit troublesome."
"What's so troublesome about that?" Loki did not understand. To him, Earth's soil had always seemed practically free. Fertilizer was more expensive, but there was no shortage of it.
"We aren't using ordinary soil and fertilizer. The soil came from Gotham. Don't ask why, because I don't understand it either. As for the fertilizer..."
Schiller trailed off. Loki narrowed his eyes at him. Schiller still held out a hand and said, "We can't be sure whether the fertilizer really played a role, but to be safe, we shouldn't change this variable. In short, we need some alien corpses."
"Huh?"
"Do you remember the two incidents when this all broke out? To avoid making a big deal out of it, I collected the bodies, but I couldn't carry those things around forever. So I buried them in the soil. Who would've thought they'd be highly compatible with Gotham soil? Pamela also acknowledged the role this biological fertilizer played in plant cultivation, so..."
Loki could not help covering his face.
"Why does everything we do end up like this?"
"I'd like to know too," Schiller said sincerely.
This sort of thing really did happen often. Back when Schiller and Strange had been running a Dungeon together, it had started out as a perfectly normal medical Dungeon, only to turn into Hell's Kitchen in the end.
Just like now, what had begun as a perfectly serious
