"So after all this, it was you!" Schiller glared at Reed. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
"You never asked." Reed glared right back at him. "Besides, your behavior was quite unusual and highly valuable as a reference. I merely regarded you as a very interesting test subject. I had no obligation to explain anything to you."
With a bang, Schiller punched him.
"Sorry, my hand slipped," he said.
Reed clutched his nose and rose from beneath the bar, sounding rather dissatisfied. "I merely skipped over the part where I lied and you exposed me, and went straight to telling the truth. Why are you reacting so strongly?"
Schiller studied Reed's expression closely and realized that Reed sincerely saw nothing impolite about calling someone a test subject. Judging by his attitude, he might even have thought it was high praise for Schiller.
"I merely skipped over the part where I argued with you and reminded you to mind your manners, and fast-forwarded straight to my hand slipping."
Reed sniffed. "You don't need to overreact. Now that you know I made Pikachu, you should also know I couldn't compile you. Otherwise, you never would have gotten in back then."
Schiller's hand froze again. He immediately realized that, given Reed's temperament, if he had been capable of doing anything to Schiller, he never would have merely created a Pikachu to observe him. He must have already tried something back then and simply failed.
At that thought, Schiller could not help covering his forehead. So after all these twists and turns, the greatest opponent he had encountered across two universes was still this shit-stirrer?!
Honestly, ever since crossing over, Schiller had never encountered any power that could truly threaten him. Most of the losses he had suffered were only due to his way
