Even though Agent was not particularly skilled in the Psychoanalytic Method, he could tell that Linda was genuinely happy. Since they had met, this might have been the happiest he had ever seen her.
Originally, Agent had not held much hope that they could catch fish with such crude equipment. That harpoon was, frankly, just a sharpened wooden pole. And while Linda was strong and sturdy, she did not look like someone who had ever caught fish before. The odds of success were truly slim.
But as everyone knew, whether someone could catch a fish had little to do with the person and much more to do with the fish. In a place rich in resources, you could cast a line at random and still get a bite; in a place with scarce fish, even a world champion would be useless.
The area beneath the waterfall really was a good fishing spot. The oxygen content here was high, and migratory fish had to come here to take in oxygen. Linda drifted around in the boat for a while and quickly spotted her target. She swung the fork hard and stabbed downward. Unfortunately, she missed.
Agent had already made his way to the top of the waterfall. It was not tall, only three or four meters high. He found a narrow path upward, stood at the top, and pointed Linda in the right direction. Pointing to the other side, he said, "Over there. The splashing is stronger there. There should be fish."
Linda rowed over, and sure enough, quickly found a school of fish. Without hesitation, she raised the harpoon and drove it down. With a splash, she lifted a huge fish straight out of the water.
The harpoon had only one point and could not hold the fish in place.
