Bruce listened to Agent recount what he had seen in the real world, frowning slightly in confusion before saying, "If this was your brother's plan, how could he be sure he could seal the evil spirit inside a body? Did he study the occult?"
"He naturally had his own methods," Agent said. "Just think about it. He'd been in the mental world for so long; he couldn't possibly have spent all that time just hiding from that evil spirit. He must have done something else. That's what we need to figure out in the mental world."
"You said he has the ability to track minds. Is it possible that he was tracking something else here?"
"What do you think is here?"
Bruce shook his head. "We can tell now that the evil spirit controlling the Joker actor, Aunt Kane, and all those mummies was probably one of Mormonism's higher-ups. But like I said, Mormonism wouldn't have destroyed the town. Someone else caused the town to decline overnight back then. I don't know who that person was, but I think we should take a look at the waterfall."
Agent nodded, and the two of them headed out of the church together. Along the way, Bruce told Agent about the memories he had seen in the cave behind the waterfall.
"So that's how it was," Agent said. "That evil spirit made up plenty of lies, but there was one thing he probably wasn't lying about: Bingge Bohr, who appeared to be Linda's younger brother, was actually her son. That little boy must have been very smart, and it was precisely because he was smart enough that he drew the attention of Mormonism's higher-ups. Cults that rely on brainwashing and hypnosis to control people fear nothing more than someone born evil."
