Back in his room, Schiller took off his glasses and yawned. He did not look the slightest bit nervous about being trapped in a manor where two murders had taken place. Just as he reached up to loosen his tie and prepare to change into pajamas, there came another knock at the door.
Schiller closed his eyes, stood with his hands on his hips, and sighed. In the end, he turned and walked to the door. Outside stood agent Kayla. She looked Schiller up and down before asking, "Are you planning to go to sleep?"
"Wasn't that obvious enough?"
Kayla frowned deeply and looked Schiller in the eyes. "I'm afraid you can't sleep now. Another murder has occurred."
"I understand. Old Pike..."
"Not Pike." Kayla denied it. She raised her arm to glance at her watch. "Mrs. Davis died two minutes ago. She was killed in the first-floor washroom."
"Director Benjamin has invited you over. Right now." Kayla looked at Schiller and said, "You haven't forgotten, have you? After the mayor died, you were the only one who went into that washroom."
Schiller ignored her and walked back into his room, retightening his tie. When he emerged again, Kayla instinctively felt a chill run down her spine.
