Kent's consciousness gradually faded, only to quickly coalesce again. Then he found himself standing on a street in a small town. Curious, he looked around, then lowered his head to inspect his body. All his wounds were gone.
Could this be the spiritual world they talked about? Kent kept looking around at the toy-house-like town before finally shaking his head.
Old Bohr really had never seen much of the world. He had the ability to shape a spiritual world, yet he had made it exactly like the real one. No matter how pretty this town was, it could not compare to the grand castles from movies and television dramas. If he had even a little imagination, the scenery here would have been breathtaking.
Kent walked on until he eventually reached the church. He sensed something inside and went in. Finding nothing in the chapel, he headed farther back and spotted a staircase leading downward.
Beyond it was a pitch-black space, though several blurry Shades could vaguely be seen. When he looked closely, he discovered that one of them was Schiller.
He was just about to go over and greet him when he realized that everything was illusory. There was only a Shade there; he could see it but could not touch it. Kent guessed this was something happening in the real world.
Just as he was about to look for a way to communicate with the outside, he saw a familiar figure appear before a point of light not far from Schiller. It was Old Bohr, the man Kent had stabbed and Linda had harpooned!
That bastard was still alive?! Kent gritted his teeth. Good people died young, while disasters lasted a thousand years. Even that had not finished him off?!
Still, Old Bohr's condition had clearly fallen to rock
