Overlord Batman was indeed highly vigilant. He stood before the wall farthest from the grid, carefully examining the unknown creature before him. He could hear its voice, but in this environment, it was hard to say whether it was even real.
Looking around, there was nothing but an endless snowfield, a desolate and frigid no-man's-land. They were dressed in cold-weather gear from a research station, looking just like expedition personnel. Then, in the middle of the ice field, they ran into a mass of unidentified gray mist that was even trying to communicate with him. No matter how he looked at it, it resembled the glowing lure dangling in front of an anglerfish's head.
"Fine, I'm not human, but there's no rule saying only humans can compete," Gray Mist explained. "I really am a Player, not some monster generated by the map."
"Why are you explaining so much to him? Can't you just turn into a human?" Greed asked.
"The problem is, who would I turn into? Wouldn't turning into you be even scarier?"
"Uh..."
"Fine," Overlord Batman said. "Who's your teammate?"
"Now that's getting right to the point," Gray Mist said. "I do have a teammate, but I can't tell you his name for reasons I can't explain. Why don't you just treat me like a monster?"
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Overlord Superman muttered in the room. He said, "Forget that for now. Try out the combat system."
"Are you insane?" Overlord Batman spoke calmly despite his words. "Do I look like I can beat that thing?"
"Relax. He must be restricted too, so it's not like you definitely can't beat him. Besides, we'll have to fight an encounter battle sooner or later. Does it matter who it's against?"
