"Victor," Hal said after flying back to headquarters, "can you connect to networks beyond Earth?"
"What?" Victor looked up in surprise.
"I mean, if there were an energy channel that could reach alien planets without limit, never mind how it works. Could you use it to hack into network signals on the other side that have come into contact with this energy?"
Victor scratched his head and said, "I don't know. I've never tried it. Is there something urgent?"
"Something attacked Barry. I'm guessing it was after me, but I don't know what it was." Hal thought for a moment before saying, "So I want you to hack into Green Lantern Headquarters and see if you can find any information."
"Then why don't you just ask them directly?"
"They don't like me much. And I can't get too far away from Barry right now. I'm afraid they'll take advantage of the opening. The Speed Force going out of control would be fatal."
Victor nodded. "All right, I can try, but don't get your hopes up. It doesn't sound like something that'll work."
Hal first held out the hand wearing his ring, then began using Green Lantern energy to communicate with Green Lantern Headquarters. This was how he had been taken to Green Lantern Headquarters before. It responded quickly. At the same time, Victor reached out and touched his ring.
In an instant, the light in Victor's mechanical eye changed from red to green. After flickering a few times, Victor withdrew his hand and said, "I don't know how it works, but it actually seems possible. Their network security is pretty strong too, though. Give me half an hour."
At that moment, Bruce came out holding mechanical blueprints, apparently intending to speak with Victor. Hal quickly stopped him and said, "Sorry,
